This lesson discusses the importance of self-compassion as members navigate a world that is overwhelmed with images on social media and a major need for taking care of oneself. Self-compassion is a cornerstone of mental health and plays a critical role in how members are able to be kinder to themselves during difficult moments in life. The ability to develop a strong sense of identity and not compare one's life to others is a challenging, yet important aspect of self-care.

Objectives:

  • Explain the role of self-compassion in addressing change, loss and rejection.
  • Identify skills to balance the impact of social media.
  • Practice behaviors that can improve positive thinking and impact the neuroscience of happiness.
